What we do
Our nursing teams assess and treat complex wounds including leg ulcers and pressure sores.
The complex wound management service provides assessment and treatment for patients with chronic wounds that are over 6 weeks old and haven’t yet healed. You will have a full assessment including a Doppler if required and the relevant treatment will be started and then re-assessed in one of our clinics.
Our tissue viability team provide advice and support to patients, their carers/relatives, and other professionals regarding tissue viability issues. The specialist nurse also takes the lead for those patients who require topical negative pressure in the community, as well as providing all the necessary training and education about wound management for community based staff, social services staff, care home staff and practice nurses.
